Since 1976, Center Stage has served the New Jersey  performing arts community with an eclectic approach for well-rounded training. This is why we are a  leader in training working professional theatre and dance artists. It's all here under one roof: The best teachers of Classical Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Modern, Hip-Hop and Tap, PLUS, a teaching group of  dynamic theatre and voice professionals.
 
Our philosophy here at Center Stage is to provide the highest quality training, with the highest quantity of fun. Our top notch faculty are the finest instructors on the East Coast, providing each of our classes with excellent t

duling of convenient back-to-back and sibling classes. Our rooms have state of the art sprung marley floors for the highest level of safety and dance ability.  Each room has wall to wall mirroring and the latest sound systems.  We have our own blackbox theatre with raised stage and stage lighting for special events.

The Show

Each year Center Stage is the host of a wide variety of PERFORMANCES!
Our Main stage production is designed for older children and teens and is  performed at the beautiful State Theatre in New Brunswick.  Center Stage shows are not dance recitals, they are Broadway in New Jersey!  Not only does our end of the year show demonstrate our students' growth, it also provides each and every one of them the experience of professional theatre.  At Center Stage we think that our shows are in a class by themselves; but don't take our word for it. Chris Scherer, reviewing our show in the Home News, said that our "Dance program at (the) State Theatre is out of this world" and that Center Stage "may have changed the stodgy old dance recital program forever." Come on down and see for yourself.  We guarantee you will catch the Center Stage Fever!
 
Our young children's dance performances (age 3 to 6yr olds) are held at Middlesex County College and are shows that contain material designed for our youngest students with themes such as Disney and Wizard of Oz.  Our young actors perform delightful scenes in this event. and every member of your family is sure to be fully entertained.  Our costumes are beautiful, appropriate and reasonably priced and each event contains impressive scenic backdrops and professional stage lighting.  We keep our children's show just like our youngest students…short and sweet!
 
Our bi-annual performance of the Nutcracker features our ballet department’s finest     students with New York guest artists. Interested students should talk to our ballet department faculty. Auditions will be held in Sept 2012.
 
Our teen Acting classes perform a Scene Showcase each May in our Black Box Theatre.  The students work on challenging material that is specifically chosen for each class to maximize every student's artistic growth. The work is cutting edge and entertaining.
 
Our Musical Theatre Showcase features our musical theatre students performing scenes and songs from Broadway musicals past and present.  Performances take place in our Black Box Theatre and are impeccably costumed and produced.  Students are challenged each year by new and exciting material chosen specifically for them.
 
Our Vocal Recitals feature our vocal department students presenting songs that challenge them and entertain your friends and family.  Concerts are held in our Black Box Theatre.
